About Shawn Kilgarlin

Shawn Kilgarlin is a native of Louisiana. She co-owns the American Screening Corp., a quick drug, alcohol, and diagnostic test pioneer, with her husband, Ron Kilgarlin. She splits her time between her job, family, creative endeavors, and volunteer activities.

Career

At American Screening Corp., Shawn is the current vice president of sales, marketing, and product development. She is an authority on developing antibodies and conjugates.

In 2004 she and her husband started the company in the sunroom of her father-in-law. Eighteen years later, the business is an ISO 13485-certified distributor of cardiac testing, fast drug and alcohol tests, infectious disease tests, and medical supplies to countries in the Americas, Asia, Africa, Europe, and Australia. It is based in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The company’s fundamental principles are continuous self-improvement, honesty, ethics, and commitment. Its goal is to provide high-quality goods, an incredible customer experience, support humankind, and aid in the fight against drug addiction.

Kilgarlin has served in various capacities at the business before becoming an owner. Since 2012, she has served as a quality management representative. From January 2017 to January 2022, she served as vice president of business development. She oversaw salespeople in that position and assisted new clients who required assistance with drug testing requirements.

In her roles at A.S.C., Kilgarlin has written books as well. The books in this category include What Parents Need to Know About Drug Testing Teens, a Drug Testing Dictionary, a Workplace Drug Testing Guide, and pamphlets on workplace safety that cover a wide range of OSHA-required topics.

From 2014 to 2020, she was the manager of a Catholic bookstore. Although she still owns the business, she retired from the day-to-day management of Jacob’s Well Inspirational Books and Gifts in Shreveport in 2020. However, she continues to promote laminated prayer cards actively. Her newest endeavor is a 75-piece Roman Catholic collection that includes a prayer and artwork by Fratelli Bonella.

At Southeastern Louisiana University, Kilgarlin earned a bachelor of science in chemistry and microbiology in 1996.

Family and artistic endeavors

Mother to four children, Kilgarlin. Her family and religious beliefs have influenced many of her creative endeavors.

In God’s Love Letters: Overcoming Adversity, she writes about how God’s love promotes spiritual toughness. Having a very unwell child is one of the difficulties she has encountered. Yet, she found equilibrium and a fresh approach as she dealt with that difficulty and others. She wrote the book to motivate others who are struggling.

She and her husband co-wrote the book Past Tense: 365 Daily Tools for Putting Stress Behind You – for Good! She draws on her personal experiences as a mother, scientist, and believer to offer practical solutions to stress-related reactions generated daily in this book.

Kilgarlin enjoys painting as well, and she makes Christian art alongside her kids. Her children’s art classes have developed into “a bonding time, no phones, just tranquility!” On artwork she and her daughter Isabella produce together, she signs it with the initials I.K.S.K. Kilgarlin. Additionally, she is doing art with her daughter Juliana. Kilgarlin also gives motivational speeches.

Work in charity

Shawn Kilgarlin’s charitable activities also reflect her Christian faith. She focuses her aid on Holy Angels, a nonprofit in Shreveport that gives people with intellectual and developmental impairments compassion, support, and empowerment. During Christmas, the Kilgarlin family visited the Holy Angels campus to distribute more than 75 gifts, blessing cards, and a Merry Christmas plaque.

Despite having a lovely family and career success, I cannot picture living a fulfilled life without giving back to society, especially where my contribution may make a difference, “she claims. “It is an honor and a delight for me to contribute to Holy Angels’ fantastic work, whose goal is to offer persons with intellectual impairments, developmental disabilities, and severe medical illnesses compassionate care and a high standard of living.

Catholic Diocese of Shreveport ministry Holy Angels was established in 1954. The organization kept its similar objective after becoming an independent 501(c)(3) corporation in 2006.

She received a Spirit Award from the neighborhood Chamber of Commerce. She has also been recognized as an Outstanding Diplomat and given a Rising Star Writing Award.

She was recognized as the Professional of the Year in Health Care Support by the Cambridge Who’s Who Registry in 2011. In any given year, only a select few members of each profession are listed in Who’s Who. The Registry chooses which individuals to award based on their demonstrated leadership skills, professional successes, academic accomplishments, volunteer activity, and other qualifications.
